Having a loud snoring roommate is indeed irritating and apparently some people have little patience to cover it. In fact the story of this student may sound a bit extreme but should give you an idea of how people have to deal with such a sleep disorder.
This has to do with a Chinese student named Guo Liwei who initially thought of capturing on video his roommate, Zhao Yan, snoring and then posting it at the university web site. Naughty as it may seem, it didn’t help. Eventually, Guo ended up stabbing and killing Zhao which has now become a cause for alarm.
Guo is now in prison and is walking on thin ice. He is now on the brink of the death sentence which is suspended. The suspended death sentence means that if he behaves himself in jail during the next two years Guo will remain behind bars for the rest of his life. But if he misbehaves, the sentence will be carried out. OUCH!
